Interview with Bobbi of Bobbi's Expressions Part 2

Bobbi of Bobbi's Expressions

Interview with Bobbi Part 2

Rico:
What is your favorite aspect about Zazzle?

Bobbi :
My favorite aspect about Zazzle is the friendly atmosphere, on the forums, and with the incredible staff, they know how to run a business right, and for this I'm grateful.

Rico:
Who or what inspires you?

Bobbi :
My inspiration is purely from my heart, it's emotion in it's rawest form, and that makes for an expression style that I hope is unique.

Rico:
What's the best advise you can give someone just starting out on Zazzle?

Bobbi :
Have a ton of patience, and make sure you are showing your best, competition is tough, and you have to present your own voice.

Rico:
What was the latest product you added to your wish list (include link)?

Bobbi :

Butterflies and Sunshine Dry Erase Whiteboards

A vibrant splash of color with butterflies and sunshine make a wonderfully colorful expression of style. Nature in it's finest is displayed for all to share and enjoy. Butterflies flutter in the sunshine creating smiles as they go. What a great gift of style to any butterfly lover on your gift giving list.

Rico:
Tell me 5 random things everyone should know about you?

Bobbi :

I'm a published writer, mostly short stories and poems.

I'm a certified car nut, and drag racing is a passion of mine, never miss NHRA on TV.

I'm an accomplished cook, love to experiment in the kitchen.

I love the beach, it's a place of peace where I can find balance when life gets a bit insane.
I'm a workaholic, some say I work too much, but you have to in order to compete in today's market.

Rico:
What do you like to do when you are not creating art?

Bobbi :
I love to cook and work on my 1971 Z-28 Camaro.

Rico:
Include links to 3 of your favorite designs you want me to feature. Tell me something about each design.

Bobbi :

I collect butterflies, I love antiques, and the idea to try and blend the two was challenging, and fun.

Antique Butterfly Throw Pillows

A lone butterfly flutters to and fro, but it's style and grace is expressed in grace and the true spirit of spring. Sharing this brings out the beauty of your style, and voice. What an amazing gift and the butterfly will touch another person in an expression of kindness and style.

Another passion of mine is roses, and here I tried to create something vintage, and include butterflies subtly and I like to think it's worked.

Vintage Roses Hand Towels

Roses are the undisputed beauty of all flowers. Their fragrance, grace, style and expression are amazing. They can turn a down day around and should be shared with all those special people on your gift giving list. Roses are timeless and these are uniquely beautiful.

Again antiques come into play here, but with daisies, a flower that I think should make any person smile. The blending of the two makes a unique design.

Rico:
Zazzle has helped many people meet goals that they otherwise wouldn’t have achieved. What has Zazzle helped you to achieve in your personal life?

Bobbi :
Zazzle has helped keep my Son and I from being homeless, we once were. Now it's helping us pay the bills, and save towards the purchase of a newer truck that we can both enjoy.

Rico:
How did you find Zazzle?

Bobbi :
I was searching for a place to sell my designs that offered a chance to set my own commission once CafePress screwed us out of that chance to make good money.

Rico:
How long have you been at Zazzle?

Bobbi :
I started here in Jan. of 2009

Rico:
Are you a ProSeller?
If yes, how long from the time you open a shop until you made it to ProSeller?

Bobbi :
Yes, I'm a proseller, I made it to Basic 9 months after starting on Zazzle, and Bronze a year later. Love all the great encouragement Zazzle gives us.

Rico:
What made you decide to open your own store?

Bobbi :
I opened my own store to get my designs in a place where I could make enough money to pay my bills.

Rico:
What makes your shop stand out from the rest?

Bobbi :
I like to think all my shops are unique, to me, they express my design style, and show my photographic talents.

Rico:
How would you describe your design style?

Bobbi :
Now that's a hard question to answer, never really thought of it as a particular style. Mostly things that appeal to me, what I would buy, what pleases my eye, if you will.

Rico:
What type of product do you prefer to design?

Bobbi :
I get a kick out of designing the pillow, and kitchen wares Zazzle provides us, and lately the challenge to make the Rickshaw bags look good with all the designs I attempt to put on them.

Rico:
What's the best advise you got when you were starting out?

Bobbi :
My best advice is to not expect to make a ton of money out of the gate, to have patience, put your designs on a lot of products, make sure your designs fit each product, and promote like mad.

Rico:
What was your first Bobbi e (include link)?

Bobbi :

My first sale was my Hugs and Kisses Bears stickers, and was I excited to see my first sale.

Rico:
What medium/tools do you use to create your designs?

Bobbi :
I use Paint Shop Pro x4, I've used Paint Shop Pro all along, this latest version has been a wonderful upgrade from their last software platform. As for my photography, I use a Nikon D90.

Rico:
A few of my Favorite designs from Bobbi's Expressions :

An Abstract Guitar Throw Pillows

A lone guitar sits in the corner, waiting, longing for someone to come and caress the music it longs to share with the silence. For the slow sensual stroking of it's stings into harmonies of sound. For music to pour forth in life giving pleasure. Come give this lonely guitar a play to express it's voice in wondrous style.

Gina Gomez of GinaG Creations

Interview with Gina Gomez Part 2

Rico:
What is your favorite aspect about Zazzle?

Gina Gomez :
It has tons of different products and allows you to express yourself, and get paid for it.

Rico:
Who or what inspires you?

Gina Gomez :
My kids and my husband.

Rico:
What's the best advise you can give someone just starting out on Zazzle?

Gina Gomez :
To be patient. Take your time when you start creating your store. Do the research first. Make sure you know what you're doing. I learned the hard way that many products had two sides for example, so I had to go back and redo them. Take the time to study each product and create what looks best on it. Not all images will look good on all products. And don't give up. If you don't make sales right away, give it time.

Rico:
What was the latest product you added to your wish list (include link)?

Gina Gomez :
I don't have any in my wish list right now.

Rico:
Tell me 5 random things everyone should know about you?

Gina Gomez :

I'm a photographer.

I'm a mother of four great kids.

I'm a native New Yorker.

I love classic rock.
I love anything that has to do with Woodstock or hippies.

Rico:
What do you like to do when you are not creating art?

Gina Gomez :
I work full time as a legal secretary. I also go out taking photos in my spare time around NYC.

Rico:
Include links to 3 of your favorite designs you want me to feature. Tell me something about each design.

Gina Gomez :

This is a peace sign pillow. I designed it from scratch

This bag has a photo I took of the Manhattan skyline. I love this photo and I love these bags.

New York City Skyline Messenger Bag

I took this photo of the Manhattan, NYC skyline while on the Staten Island Ferry. It gives you a great view of this amazing skyline. All of my products feature my own photography. I'm a native New Yorker and a passionate photographer. I've walked many miles taking photos of things that inspire me. From wildlife to flowers, to nature and street scenes, you'll find a great variety in my store. If you don't see something you're looking for, please contact me. I'd love to create something just for you!

GinaG Creations

My first Zazzle shop. It's a little bit of everything. I have a passion for photography and living in NYC, I take a lot of photos here. Many of my products feature my photography. I also have products with digital art, vintage images, etc. I am currently working on several more stores that will be more specific to each theme. As far as choosing the name, if I could go back I'd choose something else. But this was my first shop so I just picked something easy.

Pretty Party

My newest store is called Pretty Party - It features party supplies that I designed myself. It's very fun and retro. I have baby shower supplies, wedding, birthday, holiday, etc. I'm adding to it every day so it will surely grow. My daughter Gabrielle came up with the name for this store.

Wild for Wildlife

My next store to open is called Wild for Wildlife - Still under construction. I want to have lots of products before going live. I hope to go live by this weekend. For the name, I just wanted something that sounded good. I was happy to find out Wild for Wildlife wasn't taken yet.

Rico:
How did you find Zazzle?

Gina Gomez :
I was doing lots of searches on promoting my photography. I came across Zazzle in a search engine. I belong to many different photography sites and my own portfolio is www.georginagomez.com. Georgina is my full name, even though I go by Gina.

Rico:
How long have you been at Zazzle?

Gina Gomez :
Several months.

Rico:
Are you a ProSeller?
If yes, how long from the time you open a shop until you made it to ProSeller?

Gina Gomez :
Not yet, but I hope to be soon. I'm almost at $100.00, which I think is the basic requirement.

Rico:
What made you decide to open your own store?

Gina Gomez :
I wanted to sell my photography. I love creating different products. I started Zazzle just to sell my photos but soon branched out to digital art, etc.

Rico:
What makes your shop stand out from the rest?

Gina Gomez :
My photography for sure. I also think my other designs are very unique as well.

Rico:
How would you describe your design style?

Gina Gomez :
Retro Retro Retro

Rico:
What type of product do you prefer to design?

Gina Gomez :
I honestly don't like doing the shirts. I keep forgetting to put in the size so it gives me an error all the time. I have no favorite. I do the Quick Create.

Rico:
What's the best advise you got when you were starting out?

Gina Gomez :
To give it a lot of time per day and treat it as a regular job. To also be patient. I tried contacting other pro sellers and I received lots of good advice. I was also told to be unique because Zazzle has millions of products to compete with.

Rico:
What was your first sale (include link)?

Gina Gomez :

It was a retro vinyl record coaster I designed.

Retro Vintage Vinyl 45 Records Beverage Coaster

I created this design for anyone who loves the older vinyl records. Growing up in the 70s we only had records, and frankly I miss the scratchy music of yesterday. This would be a perfect gift for anyone, for any occasion.

Rico:
What medium/tools do you use to create your designs?

Gina Gomez :
Adobe Photoshop

San Simeon Sunset 3 Stretched Canvas Print

I love sunrise and sunset, the most colorful times of day in my opinion. This photo was from a recent trip to the mid coast of California. There are some good memories associated with it. The warm tones reflecting on the water on stretches canvas are superb.

Red Rose for You Posters

Roses are some of the most beautiful flowers and the fragrance is immensely pleasing to most. This was shot in my front yard. The image really brings out the texture of the petals and the rich deep color of the rose.

Deuteronomy 7:9 Encouragement Card

Everybody needs a helping hand, a kind word or an encouraging thought from time to time. In the age of instant gratification, kindness is often forfeit. I designed this card as attempt to get folks to send a kind encouraging, uplifting thought to someone. The image is from the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, USA.
